Sam
Veterinary Nurse
We feel very privileged to have Sam with us here at Ulysses. She ensures the highest level of care and compassion to our patients and clients. She had worked for many years in a busy Darwin practice before moving to the cooler climates of Cairns! Sam is a mother of 8 (4 of those being animals), and with that being a large part of her life brings guidance, knowledge and a level of kindness we couldn’t live without. She has a great love of the outdoors and spends most of her time off hiking and exploring FNQ, and planning her next big road trip with the family! Sam is gentle, patient and caring to all things living and guides us each and every day in continuing to provide our patients the best care they deserve.

Grace
Veterinary Nurse
Grace is a Far North Queensland local and has been with us since 2018. She loves taking her dogs to the beach, watching Bondi Rescue with her beloved moggie "Zsa", and the fact that she is so lucky to have found a job she loves! She is quite the advocate for cats, especially those with a little extra sass. Grace's favourite part about being a vet nurse is that "Every person that walks through our doors obviously has an animal in their life that means everything to them, and they are the best kind of people!".

Tanieka foster’s many animals for our surrounding charities, as she understands the importance of them being loved and cared for, even before they go to their forever homes. Danielle
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Dani recently joined our team in October 21’, but it feels like we’ve known her forever! Dani lived in South Africa for the first few years of her life, before settling in to Cairns with her family at the age of 3. She can’t possibly have a favourite animal, but the ones that creep and crawl are the best in her opinion. Being a part of the veterinary industry is a dream come true for Dani. She holds a great passion for surgery, exploring the outdoors and providing the absolute best patient care.

Caitlin
Veterinary Nurse
Caitlin grew up in the UK in the small town of Swindon. She came to Australia for a 12-month adventure and has been here in Cairns since. That was 9 years ago! Caitlin’s love of the outdoors and all things FNQ is why she’s stayed so long. She’s known since the age of 16 that she would be a part of the vet nursing world and she’s worked so hard to get here. Caitlin is fascinated with surgical vet nursing and client & patient care. She has a particular love for all the wildlife we get to meet and care for here at the clinic. Caitlin agrees completely with the quote by Confucius, “Choose a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life”.

Taya
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Taya is our youngest vet nurse, but her knowledge of the animal world is just short of incredible. Taya has spent most of her life growing up in the Middle East but has recently made the move back to her home town of Cairns with her family. She has a great passion for all things furry, feathery and scaly, but has a particular love for Wolves and is fascinated by their behaviour in the wild. Taya’s favourite parts of vet nursing are emergency nursing, exotic animals and behavioural training and guidance for dogs and their humans. The most special animal in her life was her late soul dog, Diesel. She had raised him since he was 8 weeks old and had played a very important role in her life for the past 14 years. Taya also runs our Puppy School classes at both Stratford and Whitfield!
